I love bacon, I love burgers, I love cheese but adding it all adds calories and a lot of fat. That’s why I decided to create my own. Here’s what you need.
Ingredients:
- Boca Burger or any other veggie patty
- Center cut bacon
- Fat free American cheese
- Portabello mushroom
- Red onion
- Mustard
- Ketchup
- Low-fat mayo
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Nature’s Own sandwich rounds
Directions:
Cook the veggie patty according to the instructions. Meanwhile clean the portabella mushroom. Then cook the bacon until crispy. Warm up the portabella mushroom, but be careful not to over cook it. Cut the onion, tomato and lettuce and set aside. If you want you can toast the bread.
Now for the fun part, build your yummy burger. Grab the bread add a little of low-fat mayo, mustard and ketchup. Then add the veggie burger, cheese, bacon, portabella mushroom, onion, tomato and lettuce, close your burger. Add some kettle low-fat chips and enjoy!
This version of a Bacon Cheese Burger is one of my favorite and I enjoy even more than the fast food one.
