Because weight loss is not easy… but it can be fun!

Coupons, Coupons and More Coupons

I like them all! :-D

I’m a great fan of coupons. Groupon, Living Social, CoupTessa, Google Offers, etc, etc, etc… Every day in my inbox there are about 6 notifications about new offers. Some of them are really good.

For example, in the South Florida area, Fit2Go is one of those super worthy coupons that you should take advantage of, especially if you are busy. Having your meal portioned and ready is always a plus. That way you don’t have to think about what to eat or if you are having the right portions. Other coupons I enjoy are the ones for manis and pedis – I’m such a girl!. As well as the one for nice restaurants.

There are so many options to pick from when those emails arrive sometimes is difficult to pick between them and you end up buying – in the same day – two or three – I’m guilty! ;-) of that.

Some days I’m tempted to buy the coupon for HCG, other days for the celullite reduction programs, boot camps, cross fit… well you get the drill.  I mean, everyone is joining the Online Coupon/Offers revolution. Making very difficult to choose!! – well sometimes -.

Even McDonalds is doing so. This week I received the notification about this offer. I looked at it and I was amazed that even McDonalds, is doing this things!

I think I’ll stick with the manis, pedis and nice restaurants. Nothing against McDonalds, the thing is that now, it’s not a viable choice for my new lifestyle. Maybe eventually,  I’ll have something from there but for now, I rather stay away! :)

I guess that some of you have found this kind of coupons. I wonder, how did you approach them? What are the coupons or offers that in the past you would have run towards it but now, because of your new lifestyle, you prefer to stay away from?

Vision Board

I believe that what you put out in the universe comes back to you. I also believe in God and I want to say that I have faith in what He said and the purpose that He has for me. I try to live my life following the path that has been laid down for me. I’m not going to lie, sometimes it’s very hard for me to do so, but I always find my way back. :-)

About two weeks ago, two of my favorite TV shows – comedies – showcased or mentioned vision boards and that got me thinking and wanting one!

I want to lose weight, I want to travel, I want to fall in love....

The following weekend – after the TV shows – started to go over old magazines and cutting phrases, words, images of things that I liked and wanted. It was a great exercise, not only because I got me super motivated but also because it gave me the chance to get rid-off  old magazines. ;-)clutter diminished!

I have to say that I finally finished my Vision Board and I LOVE IT! It really reflects all the things I want for me, from weight loss and health, to travel to money saving to love! I see how some people could say, “WTF, you are an adult…” but I don’t care. I’m following what I’ve learned, ask and receive.

I’m confident that my vision board is another step of my path to succeed in weight loss, love, work and other areas of my life. I’m excited, not only because it looks so cute, but because it really reflects me.

Have you ever done a vision board? If so, what was your experience?

Just One Cupcake

This year for Halloween I didn’t want to buy a generic costume. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I even consider use one of the old ones I have.

It's Me... Just One Cupcake!

So one night, right before going to sleep, it occurred to me that I could be a CUPCAKE!

Right there, in bed, I started to research online to see other homemade Cupcake Costumes, and I got my idea; made a list of the materials and next day after work went to find them.

I kept it quiet, I didn’t want tell people… what I was doing in case it didn’t turned out to be what I envisioned. I even said to my coworkers “I’m not saying what it is until it’s finished. If it looks like what I have in my head, then I’ll tell you, otherwise I’ll leave open for interpretation”.

To be honest, I was super pleased with my costume. It was so cute and it made me very proud :-D .

Here is how I baked made the costume:

Materials:

  • Tissue paper – I bought a package of 20 sheets of Primary Mix Tissue Paper from Party City. But you can get it from any other store. Make sure it’s 20in x 20in.
  • Two white cardboard.
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Multi color pipe cleaner crafts
  • One sheet of white fleece
  • White Velcro
  • 2 100 bags of Fluffy Pom Pompoms Snow Balls Craft
  • Suspenders
  • 6 to 8 yards of tulle – I bought different colors
  •  4 yards of ribbon – I bought white and clear ribbon
  • Small to medium foam balls
  • Plain headband – I bought a pink one

How it was made:

First measure your waist to make sure how many card-boards you will use. Don’t forget to leave room for you to move comfortable. It doesnt’ matter that it’s not close to your waist, remember that the suspenders will hold it up ;-) .

After you have the measurement glue the card-boards in one end. On the other end glue piece of white fleece. To close the card-boards and make a tube shape, glue one side of the Velcro to the cardboard and the other to the white fleece, this will be your “zipper”.

Then open the card-board skirt and with the glue gun, start pleading the tissue paper alternating the colors. Once cardboard skirt is cover with tissue paper, glue the ribbon; I did it to cover where one color ended and other started and for the borders – top and bottom-.

Once the tissue paper and the ribbon are set decorate the skirt as you like. I used fluffy pom pompoms and multi color pipe cleaner crafts.

Clip the suspenders and hang the skirt that will give you a perspective as to where you will glue and sew the tulle. If you buy different colors of tulle, alternate the colors as you go. Make sure you leave room for your arms and head :-) . Also, remember to let the tulle go over the skirt, enough to give the impression that it has frosting.

Once you finish gluing and sewing the tulle, decorate it with fluffy pom pompoms creating the impression of having sprinkles on the frosting. Let the glue set, then try it on and adjust as necessary.

In the end, you’ll have a super cute cupcake like costume. The possibilities are endles. You can make it with other colors, details, decorations, etc, etc. I know Halloween just passed, but keep in mind for next year!

I hope you had a great halloween!! Did you dressed up? If so, what was your costume?
