Today is Valentine’s day!
A day where a lot of people get flowers, candies, chocolate and go out to romantic dinners. Now for the ones in a weight loss journey, this day could be difficult.

Especially if you can’t resist a piece of chocolate or a chocolate-covered-strawberry. Or sweet treats your co-workers give you or the delicious dinner you are about to go and have.
In my case – although it could sound sad – I’m 90% free of that “torture”, because I don’t have a significant other. Now, friends, that I do have a lot to which I attribute that other 10% of my day.
I know, some people say that Valentine’s day was created by the “greeting card companies”. Others that we should celebrate love every day – I agree with the last statement – but it doesn’t hurt to have a “special day” to celebrate it.
I take this day as one to test my will.
For example, first thing in the morning I received a mini cheesecake with Nutella and a strawberry… my first instinct was to eat it, but i didn’t. Then I went to lunch to a pizzeria with some friends and co-workers instead of eating the whole pizza I ate one slice and a small salad.
When I came back from lunch I found the cutest box with Argentinean candies. But I didn’t eat it all, instead I ate a single piece of chocolate. As you can see, I’ve tested my will. I’ve been good and I’m sure I won’t throw that out the window. I know what I’m having for dinner that’s a point in my favor
Today more than ever, two words I repeat over and over… Preparation and moderation!! Those will help me stay on track today!
Now tell me, so far how’s your day going? Lot’s of chocolate? Candies? How would you avoid the “traps” of Valentine’s day!? Did you plan ahead?
